Light Bulb – Cost Effective Sample Packaging

Martha calls ‘em “Good Things”, I call ‘em “Light Bulbs”!

My very scientific way of making body lotions and creams involves putting all my ingredients in a giant Ziploc bag and smooshing everything together.  To fill the bottles, I just snip off a corner of the bag and pipe it in!

After filling as many bottles as I can, there always seems to be a little bit of product left over.  It’s not enough for another full bottle, but it’s too much to just throw away.  In the past, I’ve put the leftovers in small tins to use as samplers, but that can be costly when you consider the cost of a tin.

Looking at the lotion mix in the big Ziploc bag gave me an idea – what about sample bags?  These are not unlike those little foil packets that many beauty product samples come in.  Except they are cheaper and easier to make!

Voila! Single use lotion samples!

  2. This looks like a great idea. I can see how you might sell a sample pack or make up a gift pack that includes little samples.

I discovered Man in the Moon Herbs and loved it! I found Heather Scent from there. Your blog looks wonderful and I look forward to exploring it more.
