“Custom” Gift Bags

IMG_4898Isn’t the dollar store a wonderful place?  Okay, it actually isn’t, since nearly everything in there is made of cheap plastic and was probably put together by children earning 3 pennies an hour.  Once in a while, though, you can find some drug or department store cast-offs – items that are of acceptable quality, but for whatever reason didn’t sell, were over-stocked or generally unwanted.  So the companies unload them for cheap, and the dollar stores score.

IMG_4899On a recent trip through Dollarama, I spotted these cute zippered bags.  Loved the colour, loved the texture (very soft and suede like), loved the price!  I bought all the purple ones I could find, since it’s my signature colour.   They will be perfect for packaging my Chakra Inhaler Set.  Unfortunately, I’ll only be able to offer these to my in-person customers, since their thickness would put a package over Canada Post’s 2cm rule, thus require an extra $3-$4 in postage for US destinations, and an extra $5-10 postage (yes, you read that correctly!) to Canadian destinations.  (For more about Canada Post’s crazy shipping rates, you can check out my long shipping policy page).  Of course, I may throw one in if it’s a larger order that will be shipping in a higher rate class anyway.

To customize the bags, I simply punched a small hole in the corner of one of my business tags, added some ribbon and voila!

  1. I really like the look of the bags. Very chic. Your business card adds a nice touch.
