Signs of Spring!

Okay, this one might be a bit late since we’re getting closer to signs of summer now (like frizzy hair).    

There is a pond on the property of where I work (my day job, as I like to call it), and we have 2 or 3 nesting Canadian geese couples that come back every year.  This was my first glimpse of the year at the babies. This picture was taken a few weeks ago – the goslings are now losing their cute yellow baby down and getting that awkward, brownish feathered,  adolescent look. 

In a few more weeks, they will being getting their Canadian Geese colours, and they will be physically indistinguishable from their parents.  You can still tell who the yearlings are, though.  They are the ones that come back to the pond once a week for a home cooked meal and to drop off a bag of their dirty laundry.
